Sonnenuhr

This is the replica of a pocket sundial, a small wooden case with a string that forms a 45° angle, when opened. The sundial is placed on a flat surface, the dark compass needle pointing to north, one can then find the correct time from the shadow on the dial. To get the correct MEZ one has to subtract 4 minutes per longitude, if standing east of the 15. longitude, and add 4 minutes per longitude if standing west of the 15 longitude. The 15. Longitude is the Reference meridian for the german time. Additionally a time table is neccessary to calculate the aberration by the time of the year (sun position).
