Lutsch (Luch, german: Minsker Armbanduhrenwerk Strahl) is a manufacturer of wrist watches from Minsk in White Russia. The Productpalette consists of wristwatches with Quartz Movements and with mechanical Movements. The factory was founded in 1956 and produced in the first year already 57.000 wrist watches of the brand ”Zarya”, in the first two years the company sold a total of 210.000 wrist watches. 1963 Lutsch started production of the ladies wristwatch brand ”€žVympel”, that was especially liked in Great Britain. Watches of this brand had been sold 1.050.000 pieces worldwide. 1964 the ladies watch “Luch-1300” was launched. This was the smallest wristwatch produced in Russia . Since 1973 the Productpalette was extended by clocks for cars. Lutsch was for some time the only supplier of such clocks for AwtoWAS and their Lada. 1979 the company extended their Production by electromechanical clocks and small alarm clocks. Today the company employs a total of 7.000 employees in 150 subsidiaries . They produce about 500.000 watches. The company produces 1005 different Articles 60 % of the Production are exported, mainly to Great Britain, Czechia, Slowakia, the former Yugoslawia, Africa und Hong Kong. (Wikipedia)
